When Roger Clemens takes the mound Saturday for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, it could be for the last time. Then again, this is the same Clemens who announced his retirement in 2003, and now, 31 wins and a seventh Cy Young Award later, is poised to pitch the Astros one game closer to their first World Series. At 43, Clemens still is every ounce the best pitcher of his generation. People close to him insist he plans to return for a 23rd season, and you can bet the Astros are keeping their fingers crossed - not to mention about $20 million tucked away for the winter. "Well, after he starts a couple of more years, he might go in the bullpen and pitch a couple of years," Astros manager Phil Garner joked during Friday's news conference at Minute Maid Park. "It's not something I've talked to him about. I'm enjoying every day that he goes out there and pitches now."
