Braves' third baseman Chipper Jones is likely headed to the disabled list with a lingering quadriceps injury, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Jones said there was a "distinct" possibility that he could miss the next two weeks. He is currently leading the Major Leagues in hitting. "Bottom line, I'd miss nine or 10 [more] days that, quite frankly, I'm probably going to need", Jones said after Sunday. His stint on the DL would be retroactive to Thursday, the day after his last appearance. He would be eligible to come off July 11, the opener of a three-game series at San Diego leading into the All-Star break.
