Considering the cash outlay of last winter - $172 million for Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran - it's hard to imagine that Minaya would be in this position again this winter. But the money left over from the failed Carlos Delgado chase and the likely departure of Mike Piazza provides Minaya with another bankroll to spend. The search for a big bat in the middle of the lineup continues. Manny Ramirez will be on Minaya's radar and don't rule out another run at Delgado, who came cheap in his first year in Florida and has a huge salary for the next three years. But there are holes that must be filled - catcher, first base and closer.
