Red hot Jon Garland became the first eight-game winner in the major leagues, and A.J. Pierzynski homered for the third straight game to lead the Chicago White Sox over the Texas Rangers 5-2 Tuesday night. The White Sox, coming into the game losers of three straight, got off to a quick start, scoring two runs in the first inning, as both Scott Podsednik and Aaron Rowland touched all four bags. Dustin Hermanson walked two in the ninth but remained perfect in nine save chances. He hasn't given up a run in 19 1-3 innings this year.
