Last year, his first full year in the majors, Johnson hit .236 (98-416) with a .349 on-base pct. and set career highs in home runs (18), RBI (62), runs scored (53) and walks (72). In 318 career major league games, he owns a .249 average with 42 HR, 54 doubles, and a .344 OBP. Johnson was drafted by Oakland in 2001 in the seventh round of the June Draft. He was named MVP of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2004 with Sacramento. He made his major league debut in 2005, hitting .273 with 15 homers and 58 RBI in his rookie campaign. In 2006 he opened the year as Oakland?s starting first baseman and played 91 games, reaching the American League Championship Series as a member of the postseason roster.
