With catcher Omar Narvaez placed on the injured list with a medium- to high-grade strain of his left calf, the New York Mets are set up call-up top prospect Francisco Alvarez.
Alvarez was ranked as the No. 5 prospect in baseball before the season by ESPN's Kiley McDaniel.
The Mets are expecting Narvaez to be sidelined for eight to nine weeks.
