The Atlanta Braves have placed Collin McHugh on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his pitching shoulder.
Brian Snitker said the club moved quickly after McHugh's velocity was down as he allowed one run and three hits in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Braves recalled left-hander and top prospect Jared Shuster in a corresponding transaction. He will start Friday night's game against the San Diego Padres.
