After his second quality season with the club, the San Diego Padres are interested in extension talks with Yu Darvish.
Darvish had a 3.10 ERA, an above-average 25.6% strikeout rate and an outstanding 4.8% walk rate over 194 2/3 innings this season.
He also stepped up big in Game 1 of the National League Wild Card series, allowing one run in seven innings against the New York Mets.
Darvish, 36, is entering the final year of his current contract -- the six-year, $126 million deal he signed with the Chicago Cubs before the 2018 season.
