Major League Baseball is shut down indefinitely because of the threat the coronavirus has become.

MLB and the MLBPA will have a lot of issues to iron out once play does resume and one of them is the 2020 amateur draft, which is currently scheduled for June 10.

To mitigate the financial hit taken during the shutdown, MLB is considering skipping the draft altogether. Teams spend approximately $400 million combined on draft bonuses each year, plus associated scouting costs.
