Brian Cashman says the New York Yankees want to re-sign pitchers CC Sabathia and J.A. Happ.
After paying the luxury tax for 15 straight years, the Yankees were below the threshold for the first time in 2018.
"Yeah, we got under the tax, but we're one of the higher payrolls in the game, as you would expect -- and as it should be," Cashman said.
New York finished the season of a rotation consisting of Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka, Lance Lynn, Sabathia and Happ.
