David Price's future with the Rays has come into question as his value rises and the small market club assesses how they will contend in the future.

Tampa Bay signed Evan Longoria to a long-term deal this offseason, eating up the remaining years he is eligible for arbitration and some of his free agency. They also dealt high-priced James Shields to the Royals for prospects.

Price could be the next star the Rays deal with and he said he's "not taking a discount."

"I don't play this game for the money, but I don't want to be underappreciated," he said. "What I've done for this organization so far, I feel like I've helped this organization a great deal. So if they want to show me some appreciation, then fine.

"They know I would love to be here. They know that. Everybody here knows that. If we can make that happen then we will. If not, then I'll do it the other way."
