As the Marlins continue to shed salary, they now have just $38 million committed to their Opening Day payroll.

That is the lowest mark in the Major Leagues.

On Tuesday, Miami traded Yunel Escobar, who is due $5 million, to the Rays for a prospect.

Combined with last month's Toronto trade, the Marlins have pared $151.5 million in payroll from their books in recent weeks.
