The Cubs have found interest in veterans Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Marmol and the two could still be traded this week.
Soriano is drawing interest from American League teams as a designated hitter after he hit 32 home runs and drove in 104 runs in 2012.
Despite large contracts for both players, the Cubs will not just give them away to clear payroll space.
