It Took Two Years, Three Offers For Pirates To Sign McCutchen

The Pirates are hoping their six-year, $43.75 million contract agreement with Andrew McCutchen will help them reverse their losing ways.
Signing the young outfielder to a long-term contract wasn't easy, however, as the process took more than two years and included two offers that were rejected by McCutchen.
His camp was using the six-year, $51 million contracts given to two other standout outfielders from the 2005 draft -- Justin Upton and Jay Bruce.
