Cubs Still Want To Sign Garza To New Deal

The Cubs were believed to be listening to offers for Matt Garza earlier this offseason, but they now are adamant about signing him to a long-term deal.
The right-hander won't be a free agent until after the 2013 season.
"We have a good relationship with Matt," general manager Jed Hoyer said. "We need more Matt Garzas. We'll sit down to talk to him about a deal. We're hoping to get something worked out, but you never know and we'll keep it private when we do."
