Outfielder Larry Bigbie, sidelined since late in spring training with a stress fracture in his left heel, was cleared to run for the first time Monday and could soon be on a rehab assignment. Bigbie spent the weekend taking batting practice at new Busch Stadium. Eligible to come off the disabled list on Monday, Bigbie will spend the home stand testing the heel. Trainer Barry Weinberg said it's most likely that Bigbie will begin a rehab assignment in the minor leagues after the end of this six-game home stand. A scan of the injured heel Friday showed considerable healing. "They feel that it's healed a little bit and it's healed a little bit to where it's not vulnerable if I go out and play," said Bigbie, acquired in the offseason to at least share playing time in left field.
