Mets pitcher Oliver Perez may not accept a trip to the minors if the team opts to send him down in order to work through his struggles. "I don't know," Perez said when asked if he would agree to a demotion. "I can't say yet." Perez signed a three-year, $36 million contract with New York this past offseason. "He's discouraged," manager Jerry Manuel said. "He's disappointed in his performance. He has not been himself. We've got to do everything we can to get the old Ollie back, and that's basically what we're trying to do ? find the old Ollie. Hopefully that'll happen, but we're still a day or so from making a definitive decision on that."
