Victor Martinez is batting .422 during his current 12-game hitting streak, but expressed his frustration after Saturday's loss to the Tigers. When Martinez reached first base after a long fly ball out in the sixth inning, he threw his batting helmet on the ground. It bounced up and almost hit umpire Eric Cooper. "I went right over and apologized," said Martinez. "I wasn't trying to hit him. I was just frustrated. He understood." After the loss on Saturday, Martinez was heard slamming things around in the visitor's weight room. The Indians are 9-16 this season, and currently occupy last place in the AL Central.
