The Rangers would like to trim their payroll by $20 million for the 2010 season, according to multiple sources and confirmed by owner Tom Hicks. Texas already has a below-average payroll, and has been looking to sign center fielder Josh Hamilton a lucrative contract extension. Hicks is hoping to replace some of the team's expensive veteran players with younger talent. That could mean the end for guys like Hank Blalock, Frank Catalanotto, Vicente Padilla and Kevin Millwood.
