Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Shelby Miller is progressing quickly this season. The Houston native has split time between the Florida State League and the Double-A Texas League. In seven starts for the Double-A Springfield Cardinals, Miller is 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA, 43 strikeouts and 10 walks in 42 2/3 innings. He has not allowed more than two earned runs since he was promoted to Double-A. Miller, the 19th overall pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, went 2-3 with a 2.89 ERA, 81 strikeouts and 20 walks in nine starts (53 innings) in the Florida State League.
