Giants outfielder Eugenio Velez spent Saturday night at a hospital after being struck in the head by a foul ball while he was in the dugout. San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said CT scans were negative after Velez was struck on the left side of the head by a sharp liner hit by teammate Pat Burrell in the fourth inning against the Diamondbacks. Bochy said Velez never lost consciousness but was "a little out of it" after first being struck.
