By Christopher Reina The Opsera is a statistic I created in order to objectively rank teams by how well they hit (OPS) and pitch (ERA). In order to determine a team's Opsera, I take their OPS, multiply that number by 10 to move the decimal point over one place to the right and then subtract the team's ERA from that number. After the third week of play, we have our third different leader in Opsera, with the Giants joining the Yankees in Week 2 and Phillies in Week 1. The Yankees shifted from first to fourth after they lost three of their final four games to close out the West Coast swing of their road-trip. The Pittsburgh Pirates have displaced the Astros as being the 30th ranked team, as their OPS (times 10) is actually lower than their team ERA. 1. San Francisco Giants: 4.69
