Ken Griffey Jr. is struggling to begin the season, but the Boston Globe writes that the Mariners will stick with him as their left-handed designated hitter. "I feel a lot better this year than last year," Griffey told reporters recently. "I'm able to do things now that I wasn't able to do last year. So it's just a matter of getting in a groove and doing what you're supposed to do." Seattle wouldn't ever release him, but they could reduce his role if his struggles mount. He is hitting just .217 with an OPS of .519.
