Justin Turner Sets Dodgers Record With 12th Playoff Home Run

Justin Turner made Los Angeles Dodgers franchise history on Saturday night.

Turner hit a first-inning home run off Ryan Yarbrough to become the Dodgers' franchise leader in postseason home runs.

He has hit 12 home runs in the playoffs since joining the club. Turner had been tied with Duke Snider at 11.

Turner will be a free agent after the season.

Randy Arozarena Breaks Record For Postseason Hits

Tampa Bay Rays rookie Randy Arozarena set the record for most hits in a single postseason in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night.

Arozarena set the mark with a third-inning base hit off Clayton Kershaw.

The 25-year-old has 27 hits this postseason. He had been tied with Pablo Sandoval (2014) for the all-time lead with 26.

"Pretty special. Pretty special," Kevin Cash said. "He wanted the ball, too. I noticed that. He asked for the ball. Congrats to Randy."

Clayton Kershaw Passes Justin Verlander For Playoff Strikeout Mark

Clayton Kershaw moved past Justin Verlander for the all-time lead in postseason strikeouts in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night.

Kershaw struck out six batters, giving him 207 career postseason strikeouts in 189 innings. Verlander has 205 strikeouts in 187 2/3 career postseason innings.

"It just means I've been on great teams that have gotten to go to the postseason a lot and I've gotten a lot of starts in the postseason," Kershaw said. "It's just a special thing to be part of a team like this and be part of some of those names."

Kershaw entered with a 5.40 ERA in his World Series career but has gone 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA against the Tampa Bay Rays, winning two games in the same postseason series for the first time in his career.

Randy Arozarena Ties MLB Rookie Record With Sixth Playoff Home Run

Randy Arozarena has emerged as a star for the Tampa Bay Rays this postseason.

Arozarena went deep in Game 5 of the ALCS on Thursday night, giving him six home runs during the Rays' run. He has tied the Major League mark for homers by a rookie. Evan Longoria hit six for Tampa Bay during the 2008 postseason.

The Rays didn't add Arozarena to the Major League roster until Aug. 30.

Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran and Nelson Cruz hold the overall record for home runs in one playoffs with eight.

Will Smith Makes Franchise History As Dodgers Sweep Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 12-3 win on Thursday.

L.A. advances to the NLCS to face the Atlanta Braves.

Will Smith entered Game 3 having gone 0-for-11 in the postseason, but made franchise history in the clinching game. The catcher went 5-for-6 with two doubles, a run and three RBI.

Smith is now the record holder for the most hits in a postseason game in Dodgers history.

It was only the ninth time in Major League history a player has had five hits in a postseason game.
