Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino’s suspension for his part in a benches-clearing brawl at San Francisco on Aug. 5 has been reduced and he will miss the next two games.
Victorino appealed the original suspension of three games and it was dropped to two games. He wasn’t in Philadelphia’s lineup against Arizona on Thursday and won’t play at Washington on Friday.

Jacobs Suspended For HGH, Released By Rockies
Mike Jacobs is the first player suspended by Major League Baseball for a positive HGH test.
The 30-year-old minor league first baseman and former major leaguer received a 50-game suspension Thursday for taking the banned performance-enhancing substance and was subsequently released by the Rockies.
The Rockies released a statement expressing their disappointment in Jacobs and saying PEDs must be eradicated from the sport.
In a statement, Jacobs said he took human growth hormone to overcome knee and back ailments.
Victorino Appealing Suspension
Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino is appealing a three-game suspension imposed Monday for his part in a weekend brawl at San Francisco.
Victorino can continue to play until the appeal process is complete.
Philadelphia opened a three-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 5-3 victory on Monday night.
Victorino went 3 for 5 with a double and a solo home run as the Phillies improved their major-league best record to 75-40.

MLB has suspended Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino three games for his role in the Giants-Phillies bench-clearing incident Friday, a source told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.
The source said Victorino will appeal.
Jered Weaver Drops Appeal Of Suspension
Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver has dropped his appeal of a six-game suspension for throwing at Tigers catcher Alex Avila and began serving the suspension Saturday.
Weaver pitched nine shutout innings in a no-decision Friday night and will return to the team's rotation next Saturday in Toronto, so the suspension will amount to three extra days of rest.
"This just gets the process under way and gets it over with," Weaver said. "Obviously, this doesn't help the team out, but it helps the team out as much as possible."
Yadier Molina Suspended Five Games
Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina has been suspended by MLB for five games and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions, which included making contact with Umpire Rob Drake multiple times and spraying him with spittle twice while arguing, in the 10th inning of his Club's game on Tuesday night against the Brewers at Miller Park.
Molina's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight, when the Cardinals are to play the Marlins in Miami. If Molina elects to file an appeal, then the discipline issued to him will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
Carrasco Plans To Drop Appeal Of Suspension
Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco's decision to appeal his six-game suspension for throwing at the head of Royals designated hitter Billy Butler was only a tactic to get him through his next start Wednesday against the Red Sox.
"I think he's leaning toward dropping the appeal after he starts," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "I think we would lean toward him dropping it, too. We can adjust the rotation because of the day off [Monday]."
Carrasco confirmed that he planned to drop the appeal.
