As if a mid-September Yankees-Red Sox matchup isn't alluring enough, Saturday's game features two of the top contenders for the American League Cy Young Award. The Yankees will start Chien-Ming Wang and the Sox will pitch Josh Beckett, one 18-6 pitcher against another. Wang is the soft-spoken sinkerballer who induces loads of grounders. Beckett is the feisty fireballer who racks up strikeouts. Jorge Posada made the case that Wang should win the Cy Young, saying: "I think he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. I don't know why. To me, he's our No. 1, our ace, our Cy Young." Posada said Wang might fly under the radar because of his limited English, lack of strikeouts and unassuming nature." Wang and Beckett entered Friday night tied for the major-league lead in wins at 18. Beckett's 3.27 ERA ranks eighth in the AL and Wang's 3.69 is 14th.
