Trevor Williams made nine starts and 21 relief appearances for the New York Mets last season, but he plans to be more specialized in 2023.

While discussing his new two-year deal with the Washington Nationals, Williams said he'll be a starter next year.

"The clarity when we talked was that I will be in the rotation," Williams said of discussions with Mike Rizzo. "I have the ability to do both, but to add some stability to the rotation and be able to post up 30-plus times this season is something that's going to be asked of me."

In a swing role with the Mets last season, Williams went 3-5 with a 3.21 ERA and one save.
