Major League Baseball believes that if there's no new collective bargaining agreement in place by the end of February, the start of the 2022 regular season would have to be pushed back.
It's not clear whether the MLBPA agrees with that assertion.
Opening Day is currently scheduled for six weeks from Thursday, when the two sides met for negotiations that lasted less than an hour.
