The New York Mets are looking to select a new general manager this offseason, but they also have their sights set on a future hire.
New York would like to hire David Stearns after the 2022 season, according to a report.
The Mets requested permission to interview Stearns multiple times but haven't been permitted to do so by the Milwaukee Brewers. The belief is that Stearns' contract will expire after next season.
