Nolan Arenado has vowed to push past an offseason that featured friction between him and the Colorado Rockies.

"I'm just more concerned to play -- play hard and play for my teammates," Arenado said. "Go out there and compete. That's why I'm here. That's what my job is to do.

"I'm excited for that, obviously. There are some things going on. I'm not too worried about them. I'm worried about going out there, getting ready for the season and doing the best I can."

Arenado signed an eight-year, $260 million contract last spring, but the Rockies struggled this past season.

He declined to say whether or not he pushed for the club to trade him.
