Bruce Maxwell is not expected to travel with the Oakland Athletics to Toronto later this week, according to a report.
Maxwell has not been sentenced following his April 13 plea agreement and the original charges include a gun enhancement. He is considered ineligible for entry under Canadian immigration guidelines.
Maxwell's sentencing is set for June 4.
If the Athletics want to add another catcher to the roster, they'll have to send Maxwell to Triple-A Nashville for 10 days.
