Don Mattingly will return as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2014 season.
The Dodgers have yet to make an official announcement on their 2014 option on Mattingly's contract.
The Dodgers discussed firing Mattingly in June when they were in last place in the NL West, but they responded by winning 42 of 50 games.
