Michael Blazek may be the player to be named later in the trade that sent John Axford to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Blazek, a 24-year-old right-hander, was optioned to Triple-A Memphis by the Cardinals on Thursday but never reported to that club.
Doug Melvin wouldn't reveal the player after the trade but did say waivers and the minor-league season were factors in waiting.
