The Chicago Cubs might be done with trades this season, despite possible waiver interest in some of their veteran players.

Chicago made five trades in July that involved Major League players.

They haven't been able to test waiver waters on Kevin Gregg, Dioner Navarro, David DeJesus, Nate Schierholtz and a few others because of the risk they'd be claimed because of their modest contracts.

"The guys you're probably talking about are not likely to clear," Jed Hoyer said. "We've had a lot of discussions about what we'll do...

"We don't know yet that it's not likely, but there's no way to predict it."
