Jacoby Ellsbury would like to stay with the Red Sox if possible, according to a source.
The belief had been that Ellsbury would leave because of the medical mix-up that occurred with his five broken ribs two years ago and because he didn't like playing in the Boston market.
"That's a guy I would do anything I could to sign," David Ortiz said. "That guy has figured it out at the plate.
"He's going to keep hitting for power, hitting in the gaps. He's a heck of a player. You just don't see talent like that very often, and now he's in those years of his career where he's going to do some damage with the bat."
