Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia won't take the mound again until Game 1 of the ALDS. The first game of the playoffs will be Sept. 30 and manager Joe Girardi is looking to line up his ace for the game. The plan is for Sabathia to throw a 45-pitch simulated game Sunday so he can stay on as regular rest as possible for the first game of the playoffs. During the postseason, Sabathia would be fine with continually throwing on three days' rest, like he did in New York's championship run in 2009. "It would be no problem," Sabathia said.
