The Astros have released struggling second baseman Bill Hall. Milwaukee put Hall on waivers for the purpose of his unconditional release two months into the season. Hall was signed to a $3 million contract this offseason with a 2012 option and a $250,000 buyout but struggled from the outset of the season. He hit .224 with two home runs and eight walks and 55 strikeouts in 158 plate appearances.
