Edgar Renteria told ESPNDeportes.com that he would rather spend more time with his family than accept the one-year, $1M offer from the Giants. Renteria, who hit .412 in the World Series with two home runs and six RBIs, had his $9.5 million option declined by the club. "That offer from the Giants was a lack of respect. A total disrespect," Renteria told the Spanish-language Web site from his home in Colombia. "To play for a million dollars, I'd rather stay with my private business and share more time with my family." Renteria, a five-time All-Star, indicated he'd received at least one other offer but it was not enough to entice him to continue playing.
