As a crowd of reporters lingered around his locker before Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Rays SS Julio Lugo jokingly grabbed his wrapped torso and limped to his locker, almost as if to mock the seriousness of his strained abdominal muscle. "I feel better today," Lugo said. "I feel good. I've never pulled anything in my life." Lugo has received two days of treatment for the abdominal strain he sustained during Monday's season opener, but the status of the Rays' leadoff hitter remains unclear. "We're going to wait and see," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "I really don't know yet, but I'm not extremely optimistic. ? It's so early in the year you don't want to push anybody." A decision on Lugo could come as early as today, when he could be placed on the disabled list.
