Jimmy Rollins quickly continued his pursuit of Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak on a cold Wednesday night, hammering a 1-0 fastball for a double off Cardinals left-hander Mark Mulder leading off the first inning. That extended his hitting streak to 38 games, and earned him a standing ovation. It was the 14th time Rollins extended the streak in the first. The hit moved him past Tommy Holmes for the eighth-longest streak in Major League history. He's one away from tying Hall of Famer Molitor, who hit in 39 straight for the Brewers in 1987.
