The Twins defeated the White Sox 8-6 on Tuesday night to give manager Ron Gardenhire his 700th win. "I've been blessed and lucky enough to have an opportunity to manage in the major leagues for 700 wins. That's really special," Gardenhire told the Associated Press. "Myself and my coaching staff, they've done a lot of work. My coaches work their tails off and I tip my hat to them. As a manager, you get credit with 700 wins, but it's a coaching staff here that has done it and a lot of very good players out there. So, I'm very happy about that and very excited about that and very proud of that because it has been with the Minnesota Twins -- an organization that I really care about." In addition, the win helped Minnesota keep pace with Detroit in the AL Central. The Tigers lead the Twins by 2 1/2 games for the division crown.
