Cubs manager Lou Piniella says that Carlos Marmol will be the team's closer entering spring training in 2010. "He's done enough and shown enough, and we have confidence in him enough that going into spring training next year it's his job," Piniella told the Chicago Sun-Times. "And we'll leave it just at that." Opponents are hitting just .165 against Marmol and he has converted all nine save opportunities since taking over for Kevin Gregg. However, he is walking 8.1 batters per nine innings.
