Melky Cabrera hit a triple in the ninth inning against the White Sox on Sunday to become the first Yankee to hit for the cycle in fourteen years. New York defeated Chicago 8-5 to avoid a four-game sweep. Cabrera hit a three-run home run in the second, doubled in the fourth, clubbed an RBI single in the fifth and then tripled to lead off the ninth inning. Tony Fernandez was the last Yankee to hit for the cycle, accomplishing the feat against the A's on Sept. 3, 1995.
