Major League Baseball wanted President Barack Obama to wear an All-Star jacket when he threw out the first pitch in last week's game. Instead, Obama insisted on supporting his favorite team by wearing a White Sox jacket. "There was a big controversy," senior adviser David Axelrod said. "I think Major League Baseball wanted him to wear the All-Star jacket, and he was intent on wearing his White Sox jacket. He prevailed in that. The thing I will say about him -- I'll give him this -- he's not a Cub-hater. He will allow that he wants the Cubs to do well. It's just that between the two of them, he prefers the White Sox. "We chat every once in a while about how our respective teams are doing. He was really excited to meet [Cubs manager Lou Piniella] Thursday. He really likes him, says he's a Chicago kind of guy -- straightforward, tough and honest."
