The White Sox are expected to make a decision on what to do with pitcher Jose Contreras after he throws a side session in the bullpen on Sunday. Chicago could put Contreras in the bullpen, send him to the minor leagues, or find a reason to put him on the disabled list. Contreras, who is making $10 million this season, would have to accept a demotion and pass through waivers to make it to the minors. "We had a long talk with him," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "We love this kid. This guy went out of his way to get in shape and come back. I told him: 'You're not supposed to be here right now. You were supposed to be here in July, August. Just take something positive out of the negative. You should still be in rehab.' Hopefully, his mind is clear. We'll see what happens. "Hopefully, he can start pitching the way he can pitch because I think he can help us a lot." Contreras is 0-5 with an 8.19 ERA in six starts.
