Cody Ransom has been playing third base and batting sixth for the Yankees in spring games, and could continue doing so into the season with Alex Rodriguez out. "If that's what they ask of me, then I'll be ready," said Ransom. "I'm going to go about spring training the same way I had been, just try to get ready for the season. My value to this team is to be able to play everywhere, so I'm going to prepare myself to do that because he will be back." Ransom, 33, doesn't think anyone can replace what Rodriguez brings to New York's lineup. "I don't think you can replace him," Ransom said. "I don't think there's anybody in the game that can do what he can do. As a team, we can pick up the slack and play well while he's out, and when we get him back, he'll mean that much more for us."
