Former Yankees' center fielder Bernie Williams wants to play for Puerto Rico in next year's World Baseball Classic.
ESPN's Bonnie Bernstein has learned that Williams will fly to Puerto Rico next week to play winter ball with the hopes of representing the country in March.
Williams, 40, won four Gold Golves in 16 seasons with Yankees but hasn't played since his contract expired after the 2006 season.
