Piniella: I'll Honor My Contract

Cubs' Manager Lou Piniella claims that he'll honor his contract and remain with the team next season even if they win the World Series this fall, according to Chicago Sun-Times.
"I'm signed for next year here. I'm going to honor my contract, and then we'll see what happens," Piniella said Wednesday.
Piniella has one more guaranteed year on the three-year, $10 million deal he signed before the 2007 season. The Cubs also have a team option for the 2010 season.
"Basically what I told [the Daily News] is that I'm not in this thing 'till I'm 70," Piniella said. "I want to enjoy my life a little bit, too. ... Next year, if the Cubs win [this fall], I'm signed to manage the Cubs. I've never said anything to the contrary."
