The Yankees have reportedly told Brian Cashman they'd like him to return as general manager and should know soon whether he'll accept, according to MLB.com. "He knows that we're with him, that we want him back," Yankees' co-chairman Hal Steinbrenner said in a phone interview with Newsday. Cashman has been the team's general manager for the last eleven years. "I think, obviously, it's quickly approaching that type of decision," Cashman told Newsday. "There's no doubt about it. I'll sit down with my family -- with the Yankee family and my family. We'll do what's best for everyone involved. I love what I do. We'll just have to see what happens."
