Brett Tomko, who is eligible for free agency after this season, readily conceded after the Giants' 3-2 loss to Chicago Cubs that he's trying to maximize his marketability. ``I'm making a drive to say, `Hey, I can pitch; this is what you're going to get from me,' '' Tomko said Sunday after allowing two runs and three hits in seven innings. ``I'm making my statement.'' Tomko's overall numbers (7-14, 4.62 ERA) look ugly. But the Giants' bullpen has blown three games in which he left with a lead, and the team has averaged 2.7 runs in his 26 starts while he was still was in the game. In two starts since surviving his second demotion to the bullpen, Tomko has allowed three runs and six hits in 14 innings. The right-hander credited a change in his delivery for his mini-surge. Though Tomko wouldn't reveal details, he said the adjustment has helped him drive more directly to the plate, enhancing all of his pitches. ``It's definitely going to be written down somewhere so I don't forget about it this winter,'' Tomko said.
